Radical SR3 XXR and SR10 XXR upgraded for 2025

Radical has revealed updated versions of its SR3 XXR and SR10 XXR track cars for the 2025 model year, introducing a series of refinements aimed at improving performance, reliability, and drivability without overhauling the basic formula. The British manufacturer focused on incremental changes that add up to a more confidence-inspiring experience behind the wheel.
The SR10 XXR gets aerodynamically revised side pods that shift the aero balance forward by 2.5 percent. While that figure sounds modest, the effect grows with speed — at 160 mph, the load transfer reaches 11.5 percent. For a car that relies on extreme downforce and high corner speeds, the change should improve front-end feel and driver confidence in fast bends. Understeer and tire scrub are noticeably reduced, according to the company, and a new front splitter design also helps.
A sharper steering rack and a lighter clutch
The steering rack ratio has been altered from 1:43:1 to 1:71:1, which Radical says makes the car more delicate to steer and requires less muscle input. That should extend tire life and reduce driver fatigue. A new lightweight flywheel and clutch assembly improves throttle response and lowers the chance of shift lock, putting less stress on the drivetrain. It also gets an improved bellhousing design.
Both cars now come with a new in-house carbon single seat featuring a wrap-around headrest. It is stronger and lighter than the previous seat. For vehicles configured with two seats, new seat brackets and harnesses are included.

For people who regularly track their Radicals, the cumulative effect of these changes might be more noticeable than any single upgrade. A car that understeers less and responds more precisely to steering inputs is easier to drive fast consistently. The lower drivetrain stress also means fewer mechanical interruptions on a weekend at the circuit.
More personalization options for 2025
Radical has also expanded customization for the new model year. Harnesses can now be ordered in several color options. Lightweight Braid wheels can be painted to match any finish, and the bodywork can be done in any custom color or livery. The company sees personalization as increasingly important in the performance car market. For tight spaces or specific storage needs, drivers might consider the advantages of a side loader for their transport logistics.
Under the skin, power outputs remain unchanged. The SR3 XXR is available with either a 201 hp 1.3-liter RPE four-cylinder engine or a 232 hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder. The SR10 XXR continues with its 425 hp 2.3-liter turbocharged engine, based on Ford’s EcoBoost platform.
Pricing for the upgraded cars should hold steady compared with the models they replace. Radical released all of these updates ahead of the 2025 track season, which typically begins in spring.
